    摘要：In this talk, I will introduce the background  of MHD free boundary problems, and discuss main geometric and analytic ideas in obtaining a priori estimates. Then I will discuss the role played by the Taylor sign condition, from both ill-posedness and well-posedness points of view. This talk is based on joint work with  Professor Chengchun Hao.

    报告人简介：

 罗涛，1995年于中国科学院数学研究所获得博士学位，后于美国密歇根大学(University of Michigan)、乔治城大学(Georgetown University) 历任助理教授、副教授、教授，现为香港城市大学教授。研究方向和学术兴趣包括非线性偏微分方程、流体力学的数学理论、双曲守恒律、变分原理、自由边值问题等。研究成果发表于Comm. Pure Appl. Math.、 Arch. Rational Mech. Anal.、Comm. Math. Phys.等国际著名刊物。
